Why is our wine expensive?

  • Everything is done by hand, starting in the vineyard and then to bottling. The number of quality control points in the vineyard during each season is high.
  • We conduct extensive green harvesting during the season. At times, 50% of green bunches are dropped.
  • Type of wine — barrel aged or not? Time in the barrel can be up to 2 years. A new barrique is expensive!
  • Each bunch is first visually inspected and then hand-harvested.
  • Route-to-Market — How does a bottle or box of 6 get to you?
  • Volume of grapes taken from the vines. How many bottles are we getting from each vineyard?
  • Real estate or the LOCATION of our vineyards. Our Mikulov Sv. Kopecek 1 vineyard is an Ultra Premium site. Valtice is number 2 and Hlohovec third.
  • How much of the winemaker‘s time did each particular wine take to make in the cellar?
  • Quality level of equipment.
  • Reputation.

Our distinctive labels
